Welcome Back To School!

Summer is winding down and the school year has officially begun. Welcome back students! The year kicked off with a great start at the Back to School Bash at Lauderhill Paul Turner Elementary. There were live healthy cooking demonstrations, bike, helmet, and school supplies giveaways, the start of a community garden initiative, and safe biking instruction.

Live Well Lauderhill continues to move full steam ahead. The 19th Street green space construction is set to begin in the coming weeks. Live Well Lauderhill has also begun to collaborate with the Transforming Our Community’s Health (TOUCH http://www.touchbroward.org/) Initiative around a healthy corner stores. As with Own the Overpath, Live Well Lauderhill will rely on student leadership to come up with some creative solutions for how to make our corner stores healthier. There will be some exciting updates soon so stay tuned!
