Going Places Exhibit Premires at the Lauderhill Art Center

The Going Places student art exhibit opened at the Lauderhill Art Center on Thursday 1/19 and will remain on display until 1/30.  Following its run at the center, it will move to Lauderhill City Hall and finally to the Youth Summit at the Broward County Convention Center on March 7th.  While the photos are fantastic, the true power of the images was brought to life by the Lauderhill Community Y students who told stories about each of the images.  The students had the opportunity to share their stories with Mayor Kaplan, Commissioner Benson, Commissioner Thurston, and many other city and community leaders.  Thank you to each of the students who helped us learn so much more about the Lauderhill community.  Your perspective is incredibly valuable and your hard work is greatly appreciated.  Great job! And thank you for not selling your photos just yet to the many people who tried to purchase them–we’ll open the bidding March 8th!!!!
