2012 Youth Summit at the Broward County Convention Center

The student leaders of Live Well Lauderhill completed their PhotoVoice travelling exhibit tour with a showcase at the 2012 Youth Summit at the Broward County Convention Center.  Over 1,000 community leaders and 250 students had an opportunity to view their work, learn about Live Well Lauderhill, and see the power of creating a PhotoVoice exhibit in their community.  The students had the opportunity to go through the Life Maze, which they reported was the highlight of the day.  They also had the amazing opportunity to hear Geoffrey Canada speak about the Harlem Children’s Zone.  In our feedback session following the event, students had some reflections about his message.  The student leaders have officially opened their exhibit for bidding (a request of several attendees at the art exhibit).  Interested in purchasing a Live Well Lauderhill photo?  Please contact Jocelyn Boyd at jboyd@ymcabroward.org 100% of proceeds will fund summer programming opportunities for the students of Live Well Lauderhill.
